CPCL DAY CELEBRATED

‘CPCL Day’ was celebrated on 30.12.2010 with enthusiasm and gaiety that flowed spontaneously with overwhelming participation from employees and retired employees and their family members. Ramlakshmi Palace, the venue of celebrations was brimming with festivity with a capacity crowd of about 2000 persons. The function began with the light music at 6.00 p.m. which lasted till nearly 10.00 p.m.

Mr.B.M.Bansal, Chairman, IndianOil group companies, graced the occasion with his participation along with his wife. In a brief function, the new video film on CPCL “Four Decades and Flourishing Further …’ was released by the Chairman. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman, cited the glorious history of CPCL with many of its pioneering efforts in refining operations. He also stated that the Pet Coke based Residue Upgradation Project of CPCL was cleared by the Board earlier in the day and noted that it would add considerably to the bottomline of the company by increasing the production of distillates.

Earlier in his address, Mr.K.Balachandran, Managing Director, observed that the CPCL DAY is being observed taking reference to the ‘incorporation date’ of the company and noted that the company has grown to its present stature because of the invaluable contribution of its human assets, past and present. He also informed that CPCL DAY would be celebrated every year with the same festivity and gusto.

On this occasion, on behalf of CPCL, a memento was presented to Mr.B.M.Bansal by Managing Direcgtor, Directors and representatives of Chennai Petroleum Officers’ Association (CPOA), Chennai Petroleum Employees’ Union (MREU) and Madras Refineries Ambedkar Employees’ Association (MRAEU). Prizes were also to the winners of various competitions conducted in connection with CPCL DAY celebrtions.
