As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations, Chennai
Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has launched an E-seva
for the benefit of CPCL’s contractors/vendors. Under
this system any contractor/vendor can log into CPCL’s
website www.cpcl.co.in and track the status of his bills.
This effectively avoids the manual follow-up of their bills
with the various departments. This was launched by Mr.K.K.Acharya,
Managing Director, CPCL, at the Customers’ Interaction
Meet at the Manali Refinery on 09.11.2006.
The valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week
was held at CPCL’s Corporate Office on November 10.
Mr.C.R.Ravichandran, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, participated
as Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners of
the various competitions held in connection with Vigilance
Awareness Week.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Ravichandran called for united
effort on the part of all us to curtail corruption. He called
upon the Officers to be transparent in their approach and
fair in taking the decisions. The Chief Guest also hosted
the Vigilance Department’s intranet and “E-learning
on Departmental Proceedings”.
In his presidential address, Mr.K.K.Acharya, Managing Director,
felt proud that the Contractors/Vendors of CPCL were very
happy with their relationship with the company. He further
stated that CPCL would be spending about Rs.6,000 crore in
the next 5 years on various projects of the Company and this
calls for strict adherence to established rules and regulations
in awarding works and contracts and if any deviations to the
rules are required, it should be recorded properly to avoid
any ambiguity.
At the outset, welcoming the gathering, Mr.N.Sankaran, Chief
Vigilance Officer, detailed the programmes undertaken by CPCL
during the Week. Mr.N.Sethurathinam, General Manager (Vigilance),
proposed a vote of thanks.
