Further to the receipt of the “ TPM EXCELLENCE AWARD ” , a function was arranged at CBR on 08.08.2010.

Our Managing Director graced the occasion with his presence. The function was organized at the community hall and commenced with welcome address by Mr. N. Jayaraman, CM(P&A/FIN/ITS). Representatives of all bodies felicitated and thanked the management for its commitment and support to achieve this award. Mr. S. Thangavelu, DGM(CBR) in his address gave an account of TPM journey in CBR since beginning of TPM kickoff which was in 2005 and complemented the team effort, dedication, hard work and commitment of employees and the involvement of children and spouses during various TPM programmes. Mr. N.V. Kalaivanan, GM(CBR) in his special address highlighted the achievements through TPM and the support and guidance of MD and Directors in shaping the future of CBR. He reminisced the contributions at various stages of TPM implementation by all the employees who were transferred to Manali. He also appreciated the continuous help and support extended by Manali TPM secretariat and Corporate Communications for achieving the coveted award.

Managing Director appreciated all CBR employees and family members for their involvement and complemented CBR for achieving the Excellence Award which has given a lot of confidence to challenge the forth-coming TPM audits successfully at Manali. He also emphasised that the next stage in TPM activities at CBR should involve greater focus in identification of losses and eliminating through innovative approaches and that our route towards achieving the next level should be as important as the goal itself.

In his address, Mr. S.Narashiman, TPM Counselor insisted to focus on fuel and loss through TPM approach being a potential area for improving refinery economics.

Kick- off ceremony was formally initiated by our MD for the second level of TPM activities. Mr. Madhavan, SM(E&I/MM/F&S) proposed a vote of thanks in his poetic style and Mr. A. Selvamuthu Kumaran compered the proceedings.

Later in the evening, CBR family members enjoyed the dinner arranged by P&A in a magnificent setting in the housing complex.
