Mr. A. Kasturi Rangan (58)
has been appointed as the Director (Operations), of Chennai
Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) by the Government of India.
He assumed charge on August 13.
A Mechanical Engineer, Mr.
Kasturi Rangan, worked in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)
and Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL) before joining CPCL in
1986 as Senior Manager (Computer Services). He was responsible
for extensive computerisation in CPCL. As General Manager (Operations),
he was in charge of various functional areas of Refinery like
Production, Maintenance, utilities, oil Movement and Storage,
Fire and Safety etc., He also held additional charge of Personnel
and Administration, for more than a year. Recently, he has successfully
commissioned the Rs.2,360 crore 3MMTPA Refinery Expansion cum
Modernisation Plant at Manali Refinery. He is widely travelled.
Prior to this appointment
he was Executive Director (Operations).
He is married and has
a son.
