Chennai Petroleum Corporation
Limited (CPCL) has own the "Golden Peacock Environemt Management
Award" for the year 2001 under "Manufacturing - Large"
category. The award was given by World Environment Foundation,
New Delhi, in recognition of the excellent performance achieved
by CPCL in Environmental Management. About 55 industries throughout
the country competed for the award under manufacturing and service
sector categories. It may be recalled that CPCL was awarded
ISO 14001 certification on May 21.
On behalf of CPCL, Mr.A.Varadarajan,
Executive Director ( Projects & Development ), received
the award from Prof.P.K.Dhumal, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Himachal
Pradesh at the 3rd World Congress on Environmental Management
held at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, on June 16.
