CPCL Contributes Rs.10 lakhs to Sankara Nethralaya

 

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has joined hands with Medical Research

Foundation of Sankara Nethralaya for undertaking a long-term project of Comprehensive Eye

Care (CEC)for the benefit of the people living in Manali and neighbourhood villages. In this

connection to begin with, CPCL has contributed Rs.10 lakhs to Medical Research Foundation

of Sankara Nethralaya for conducting 10 camps during the year 2009-10. A cheque to this

amount was handed over by Mr. K.K.Acharya, Managing Director, CPCLto Dr.L.Gopal,

Chairman, Medical Research Foundation of Sankara Nethralaya in the presence

of Dr.S.S.Badrinath, President & Chairman Emeritus, Medical Research Foundation

of Sankara Nethralaya, at CPCL’s Corporate Office this morning (12.06.2009).

 

The optometrists will carry out the screening of the patients at the campsite.

Based on the diagnosis for cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, squinting

of eye and other age-related changes etc., further treatment will be provided.

The implementation of this Comprehensive Eye Care Project is expected to

benefit the Manali and neighbourhood villages to a very great extent.
