Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Chennai
Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (CPCL) Manali Refinery
Complex this morning (15.8.2006). Mr.K.K.Acharya, Managing
Director, CPCL, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute
at an impressive parade by the Central Industrial Security
Force (CISF) contingent stationed at CPCL.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Acharya recalled the innumerable
sacrifices made by our great leaders for the freedom movement.
He complimented the employees for the excellent physical and
financial performance of CPCL during the first quarter of
2006-07. Detailing about the growth initiatives, Mr.Acharya
stated that CPCL would implement key strategic initiatives
that include capacity expansion at Manali Refinery, Installation
of Resid Upgradation and Euro IV projects etc.,
Special Awards were presented to about 135 meritorious children
of employees. The Managing Director also distributed long-service
awards to 16 employees and also suggestion scheme awards.
A large number of CPCL employees and CISF personnel along
with their family members participated in the celebrations.
A cultural programme by the students’ added colour to
the function.
Earlier, Mr.Acharya hoisted the National Flag at CPCL’s
Corporate Office at Teynampet.
