The CBR Oil Jetty, set up
at a cost of Rs.96 crore for CPCL’s Cauvery Basin Refinery
(CBR) was inaugurated by Shri Ram Naik, Hon’ble Union
Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas on March 1, 2003. Shri
A.K.S.Vijayan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, presided
over the inaugural function. Shri Santosh Gangwar, Hon’ble
Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, was
the Chief Guest. Shri R.Jeevanantham, Hon’ble Minister
for Agriculture, Government of Tamilnadu and Shri R.Viswanathan,
Hon’ble Minister for Transport, Government of Tamilnadu
were the Guests of Honour. Shri M.S. Ramachandran, Chairman,
IndianOil Group Companies, was present. Shri S.Rammohan, former
CMD, CPCL, was also present as a special guest. Mr.S.V.Narasimhan,
Managing Director, welcomed the gathering. Mr.K.Narayanan, Director
(Operations), proposed a vote of thanks.

While addressing the gathering,
Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas advised
that the jetty would be suitably named and in this regard he
invited public to suggest suitable name within 15 days. He also
added that the person whose suggested name is finally approved
will be suitably rewarded.

The commissioning of the Oil
Jetty will enable CBR to process more crude oil and run to full
capacity of 1.0 MMTPA subject to economics. The Oil Jetty can
also be utilised for transhipment of petroleum products. |
