advantage in the already emerged competitive era,
business houses should have a strong internal organisation.
It is a task that calls for training professionals
to manage organisational variables effectively.
Chennai Petroleum
Corporation Limited was among the first to recognise
this in India, by starting a specialised training
school in 1984 - Refinery Engineering School of
Training (RESOT) for imparting new learning to engineers
of Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries. RESOT
has a well equipped infrastructure facility to provide
high professional standards of training in a centrally
located place at Chennai.
Of late in the ever
changing global business scenario , organisations
have opened up new vistas in their competitive practices
by providing challenges to organise their personnel
to quickly reorient themselves in acquiring newer
job skills and knowledge adequately. Realisation of
this has necessitated our RESOT to shift the paradigm
from trainer-centered teaching to trainee-centered
learning in its approach to training and development
function.
In this, RESOT addresses
the ever increasing pressures and challenges in the
noble cause of Human Resource Development by organising
programmes of special nature on Technical and Behavioral
aspects by providing scope for its participants for
experiencing new learning in a focused manner. There
are short and long duration programmes of 2 to 11
days period at its premises, being organised to suit
the time.

RESOT's Training
calendar periodically gets reviewed and re-designed
based on the constant discussions amongst the practising
professional managers; academicians from reputed educational
institutions and further based on the evaluation of
the feedback on each subject.
Long
Term Core Course
The Core Course on Advanced Refinery Technology at
RESOT is basically for Engineers in different disciplines
from various organisations, with at least 5 years
of on the job experience in Petroleum and Petrochemical
Industries.
Its contents are
imparted in four modules
Refinery Operations
- Mechanical Maintenance and Inspection
- Electrical Maintenance and Instruments
Each of the above
four modular programmes is conducted for duration
of 11 days in every quarter of a year. Its course
contents provide adequate opportunities for the participants
to develop, equip, update their skills and knowledge
in the latest trends by
- Disseminating first-hand
information on the recent technological changes;
- Strengthening the
learning on the concepts and practice of advanced
technology;
- Making available
the expertise of technocrats of Process Manufacturing
Consultancy Organisations, both in the Public and
Private Sectors; and
- Exposing the participants
to the experience and knowledge of renowned academicians
and successful practising professional managers
