CPCL has received the Second
Prize of “Corporate Environment Award 2001-02” by
The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI), New Delhi amongst
the Category-III companies with annual turnover above Rs.500
crores. The award was received by Mr. A. Kasturi Rangan, Executive
Director (Operations), CPCL (fourth from left) from Mr.T.R.Baalu,
Hon’ble Union Minister of Environment & Forests, in
the presence of Justice J.S.Verma, Chairman, Panel of Judges,
and former Chief Justice of India, (second from left) at a function
in New Delhi on June 17. Dr.R.K.Pachauri, Director General,
TERI,(third from left) was present.
Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL)
has been awarded the Second Prize of “Corporate Environment
Award 2001-02” by The Energy & Resource Institute
(TERI), New Delhi amongst the Category-III companies with annual
turnover above Rs.500 crores. The award was presented by Mr.T.R.Baalu,
Hon’ble Union Minister of Environment & Forests, in
the presence of Justice J.S.Verma, Chairman, Panel of Judges,
and former Chief Justice of India, (second from left) at a function
in New Delhi on June 17. Mr.A.Kasturi Rangan, Executive Director
(Operations), CPCL, received the award on behalf of CPCL. Dr.R.K.Pachauri,
Director General, TERI, and Mr.R.K.Narang, Distinguished Fellow,
TERI, were present.
The award is presented to CPCL in recognition
of its leadership efforts towards environmental management and
sustainable initiatives amongst nearly 76 companies.
