Golden Jubilee Celebrations of CPCL

Union Petroleum Minister unveils Golden Jubilee Stupa and inaugurates Mounded Bullet facilities

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, participated in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of CPCL this morning (23.07.2016) at CPCL's Manali Refinery. The Minister unveiled the Golden Jubilee Stupa marking the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister complimented CPCL on its Golden Jubilee and commended the contribution made by CPCL to the State and to the Nation. He applauded the role of CPCL in transforming the Manali area into a petrochemical hub and stressed the need for sustained growth in the future. In order to provide intrinsically safe storage CPCL has constructed Mounded Bullet storage facilities for LPG, Propane and Petrochemical Feedstocks (Propylene & Butylene) (Total 12 Mounded bullets.) at a cost of Rs.279 Crore which was also inaugurated by the Minister on this occasion.

Earlier on arrival at Manali Refinery, the Hon'ble Minister was accorded a Guard of Honour by the CISF contingent stationed in CPCL. The Hon'ble Ministers planted a sapling at Manali Refinery as a mark of their visit. Later a presentation on CPCL was made to the Hon'ble Ministers. The Hon'ble Ministers evinced keen interest in the performance and growth projects of CPCL. The office-beares of collectives presented shawls to the Hon'ble Ministers.

Shri Pon.Radhakrishnan, Minister of State, Ministry of Road Transport, Highways & Shipping, Govt. of India, in his address, while complimenting CPCL,attributed its success to its Human Resources and called upon the workforce to maintain the momentum.

Shri M.C.Sampath, Minister of Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr. P.Venugopal, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Thiruvallur: Shri T.G.Venkatesh Babu, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, North Chennai, and Shri K.P.P.Samy, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Thiruvottiyur constituency also addressed the gathering on the occasion.

At the outset, Mr.B.Ashok, Chairman, CPCL and IndianOil Group companies, welcomed the gathering. Mr.Gautam Roy, Managing Director, CPCL, proposed a vote of thanks.
