Independence Day was celebrated in a solemn function at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (CPCL) Manali Refinery Complex on 15.08.2015. Mr.Gautam Roy, Managing Director, CPCL, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at an impressive parade by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) contingent stationed at CPCL.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Gautam Roy, said CPCL posted a profitable results during the first quarter of 2015-16 with a sales turnover of Rs11386 Crore and a Profit Before Tax of Rs 924 Crore. The physical performance was excellent as the company achieved highest ever crude throughput of 2843 TMT during the quarter. The production of total distillates was also highest at 74.3% in a Quarter. “The lower and stable crude oil prices, attractive petroleum product cracks and sound physical performance during the quarter have immensely contributed to higher Gross Refining Margin (GRM) for the Company” – he further added.

As a mark of respect, the portrait of our beloved past President of India, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, was unveiled by the Managing Director. Suggestion Scheme awards were presented to the employees. Vehicle Intervention and Move Operation Right drills were demonstrated by the CSIF Contingent in CPCL. Cultural programmes by school children added colour to the function. Mr.S.Venkataramana, Director (Operations), Mr.S.Krishna Prasad, Director (Finance), Mr.U.Venkataramana, Director (Technical), Mr.D.P.Naidu, Chief Vigilance Officer, CPCL, and a large number of employees along with their family members participated in the function.

Earlier, Mr.A.Kumar, General Manager (Corporate Planning) hoisted the National Flag at CPCL’s Corporate Office.
